Further to the announcement made on 1 March 2017, regarding the commencement of drilling on the Altair licence, drilling operations began as expected in Turaco-1 (Altair). The first section at 1,205 feet has been completed and logs are being recorded. This section will be conditioned and cemented in the next 48 hours, as originally planned. The drilling of the second section will start on Saturday 18 March to a target total depth of 6,800 feet. Reservoirs are expected to be found below 5,000 feet.
Once drilling is completed the rig will be moved to the LLA 47 licence to drill the Vikingo-1 well.
